Don’t Get Lost in Tactics: 4 Ways to Stick to Your Digital Strategy
By Greg Kihlstrom - February 3rd, 2012Here is an excerpt from an iMedia blog by Carousel30's Greg Kihlström:
"Beware of the should statements. Back in the 90s it went something like this: “Our company should really have a website.” A little bit later it was: “We should really start blogging.” More recently it was: “We should really be on social media. All of our competitors are.” I think you see where I’m going with this. Add to that the constant barrage of new social media sites, communications tools, advertising products and even new devices."
Going Dark To Protest SOPA, PIPA
By Anna Steely - January 17th, 2012
Are you ready for the blackout? I can’t imagine a day of not looking at Reddit or Wikipedia, but tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18th, it looks like I’ll have to manage without it. Large Internet sites such as Reddit, Wikipedia and Boing Boing will be protesting against the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) bills. The bills are designed to restrict access to sites infringing on copyright laws, such as sites that allow illegal downloads of movies, music or information. Some believe that with these bills, we’d be saying goodbye to a free and open Internet.

Occupy the Internet?
By Anna Steely - December 29th, 2011
I knew that the Occupy movement
was sweeping the US, but the Internet, too? The Occupy movement is
doing much more than camping out in big cities. It’s also cultivating
advances in technology, too.
The Internet has progressed from a simple tool to the largest means of
communication worldwide. However, not everyone has easy access to it,
which includes the Occupiers. So, they sought a solution that will not
only benefit them, but potentially all Internet users too.
You Can't Manage What You Don't Measure
By Greg Kihlstrom - December 12th, 2011
Surely we've all heard this at one point or another, and those of us in
fields (such as advertising and marketing) that require a very regular
feedback loop with our clients know the wisdom in this.
I can
spend a little time justifying this statement and will do so, but my
primary reason for writing this is a little different and will focus on
why we measure what we measure and how we need to constantly reevaluate
what we are measuring.
