Consistency is often overlooked

Online Marketing and Social Media

Being in the right place at the right time is a difficult thing.  It would seem people who are always "there" at that perfect moment possess an innate ability to either see into the future or read trends with absolute precision.  If that doesn't describe you, here's another idea:  do something well, and do it consistently.

You can't control when a potential client is going to be looking for your product out of the blue. (You can entice people who are otherwise uninterested or on the fence with advertising, but that's a topic for a different post).  All you can do is manage to be present in the places where they look for things when they're ready to act.  And a key to doing that is to pick some doable, manageable tactices and strategies, and do them regularly enough that you won't miss an opportunity to engage with your customer.

So if we're talking about social media, for instance, don't just set up a profile page with a few posts and leave it, waiting for someone to comment on one of your brilliantly-executed posts that were made the day the account was set up.  Create a plan to regularly post updates, events, links, discussions.  If the other components of your campaign (driving traffic to the profile, etc) are working, you will start to benefit from the consistency of your posting and the discussions will start happening and growing. It might be hard to know WHICH post is the one that engages your audience.
